At the end of May 2025, the total loans granted to businesses, citizens, and entrepreneurs in Serbia reached approximately 3.942 trillion dinars, marking a 1.2 percent increase compared to April, the Serbian Banking Association reported.
Business loans amounted to around 2.124 trillion dinars, up 0.8 percent from April, while loans to entrepreneurs rose by 2.2 percent to about 87.2 billion dinars. Household debt to banks stood at 1.731 trillion dinars, reflecting a 1.7 percent growth compared to the previous month.
Among household loans, cash loans increased by 2 percent, consumer loans by 2.3 percent, housing loans by 1.5 percent, and refinancing loans saw the largest growth at 3.9 percent. Agricultural loans slightly declined by 0.1 percent.
The rate of loan repayment delays remained steady at 2.5 percent of total bank loans, unchanged from April.
