At the 46th International Tourism Fair in Belgrade, under the slogan “One Ticket, Countless Worlds,” over 400 exhibitors from Serbia and abroad showcased their offerings. During the four days of the fair, the Serbian capital, Belgrade, became the hub not only for the region but also the starting point for fantastic travels around the world. Among the many exhibitors from across the globe, Tunisia stood out as one of the most popular destinations for Serbian citizens.

With its turquoise sea and white sandy beaches in destinations like Sousse, Port El Kantaoui, and Jasmine Hammamet, and of course the crown jewel, Mahdia, Tunisia’s tourism offering was further enhanced this year by the addition of an exciting, somewhat exclusive vacation spot — the island of Djerba. The new direct flight route from Belgrade to Djerba was a key highlight and the reason why Tunisia’s Ambassador to Serbia, Her Excellency Imen Lajili Amari, hosted and was also a guest at the Tunisian Tourism Organization stand, promoting this new travel destination to Serbian travelers and fostering connections between the two friendly countries. We asked her if she was satisfied with Tunisia’s participation at the 46th International Tourism Fair in Belgrade.

“Thank you for visiting our stand. As you know, tourism is a very important industry for Tunisia, and Serbia is a very important friendly country for Tunisia. Every year, we participate in the International Tourism Fair in Belgrade, and we are always happy to be here. We recognize the growing interest among Serbian citizens for vacationing in Tunisia. The number of tourists visiting continues to rise each year, and we are very happy about this. We can be proud of the wide range of tourist destinations available to our Serbian friends who come to Tunisia in increasing numbers every year. A big thank you to ‘Politika,’ a great partner, for taking an interest in Tunisia, and I would like to say to all the people of Serbia: Welcome to Tunisia,” said Tunisia’s Ambassador Imen Lajili Amari.

The direct flight route from Belgrade to Djerba is significant for all those in Serbia who are continually drawn back to the fragrances, colors, and flavors of friendly Tunisia. “This year, we have some exciting news: a direct flight from Belgrade to Djerba. It’s a relatively new destination for Serbia, as it has been previously offered in Western markets, but now, from this year, we are introducing it to the Serbian market. It’s beautiful, but with different landscapes compared to the north, with the proximity of the desert and fantastic excursions in the breathtaking parts of the Sahara. This is something you simply have to experience. I’ve just begun my second year of service in Serbia. As a career diplomat, I arrived in Belgrade in October 2023, and I’m extremely happy to be working in Serbia, a great friend of Tunisia and our people,” said Tunisia’s Ambassador.
