Numerous Turkish companies show interest in doing business in Serbia, investments and cooperation, and officialy, Turkey is ready to support them in expanding cooperation with Serbia based on excellent results so far, it was concluded at the meeting that was held by the Minister of Construction, Tomislav Momirovic with Turkish counterpart, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu and Turkish businessmen.
“When Serbia and Turkey are together and we have stable and strong relations, the whole Balkans is stable and can only prosper economically. We have opened a lot of topics, among which is the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway from two directions,” Momirovic said during his visit to Turkey, his cabinet announced.
He stated that project documentation is being prepared for the section from Pozega to Kotroman, via Uzice to Kotroman and to Sarajevo, that the works are being performed very well from Kuzmin to Sremska Raca and on the bridge over the Sava.
He added that the works on the project of building apartments for members of the security service, which is being done with Turkish contractors, must be intensified.
“I had meetings with two large Turkish companies – one wants to perform construction works on a large scale, a company that has several billion turnover, and the other wants to open several construction products factories in our country,” Momirovic said.
Karaismailoglu pointed out that in previous years, Turkey has worked on a significant number of large projects, thanks to which Turkish engineers and workers from the construction sector have extensive experience.
“During nineteen years in all the jobs we have done, we have given birth to a whole generation of Turkish engineers and designers who work extremely well, so we want to share the experience and everything we have learned with a friendly country such as Serbia. Good bilateral relations and our construction companies that work successfully in Serbia are our pride,” Karaismailoglu said.
Momirovic met with representatives of Kalyon, one of Turkey’s largest construction companies working to build a new airport in Istanbul, and Detas Siketler Gurubu, Turkey’s leading steel company, Danas reports.
