Unilever wants Centroproizvod – Negotiations on sale of successful Serbian company underway

After completing a so-called due diligence review, the company Unilever has confirmed its interest in the acquisition of Centroproizvod and negotiations on the sale of that Serbian company are now underway, Press newspaper reports.

Unilever was formed in 1890 and it is one of the world’s largest food production companies. Its portfolio includes over 400 brands such as Dove, Rexona, Knorr, Lipton. The company’s annual turnover in 2010 amounted to EUR 44.3 billion. It operates in 180 countries and has 167,000 employees. Last year they launched over 100 brands in new markets.

Centroproizvod is one of the most successful domestic companies and the market leader in almost all segments it operates in.
