There was strong interest once again this year for the distribution of government-subsidized vacation vouchers in Serbia, with the first batch of 30,000 vouchers claimed within just 45 minutes at post offices across the country. Long lines and crowds were also seen in Niš.

Although official applications began at 8 a.m., people started queuing much earlier in hopes of gaining an advantage, as the first wave included 30,000 vouchers worth 10,000 dinars each for holidays within Serbia.

According to post office staff in Niš, all vouchers were claimed in under an hour, and the crowds quickly dispersed afterward. The Ministry of Tourism and Youth had previously announced this initial distribution, but has yet to specify when the remaining 70,000 vouchers will be made available.

In previous years, the vouchers were also claimed in record time — last year, they were all distributed within just two hours.
