The Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry has awarded contracts totaling 450 million dinars for the procurement of irrigation equipment and systems. Additionally, contracts were signed for equipment aimed at improving the water, air, and thermal conditions of plants in Vojvodina in 2025.

Assistant Secretary Petar Samolovac emphasized the significance of this competition, describing it as one of the most important for registered agricultural farms. He highlighted that these investments are crucial for the sustainability and financial stability of agricultural producers in Vojvodina. The goal is to enable farmers to irrigate 30 percent of their agricultural land in future sowing structures, making the continuous implementation of this competition essential each production year.

Samolovac also noted the importance of these incentives given the rainfall deficits and high temperatures experienced over the past four years, which have heavily impacted crop yields across agricultural sectors.

Contracts were signed with 459 registered farms. Co-financing supported the purchase of more than 50 irrigation typhoons, over 140 pumps and aggregates, and 11 wide-area irrigation systems. The largest investment went to small agricultural farms through “drop by drop” irrigation systems, with over 300 farms receiving subsidies.

Compared to last year, the allocated funds increased by 80 million dinars. Over the past five years, approximately two billion dinars have been invested in registered agricultural farms for irrigation purposes.
