Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated on Wednesday that by the end of the year new air carrier Air Serbia will make Serbia the leader in the region and the most powerful among countries with nearly 100 million citizens.

Vucic told reporters after a session of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Presidency that he worked on this project together with United Regions of Serbia (URS) leader Mladjan Dinkic, and that he expects to see him at the signing of the agreement on strategic partnership with Etihad on Thursday.

Vucic said that not even good things are accepted in Serbia, and criticized the individuals who were against new foreign management in the company.

“I am happy that there will be no party members, administrative employees and secretaries…For the first, we will have a company which will not take millions from the government but rather pay taxes, make profit and be the strongest one in Serbia,” Vucic said.

Vucic said that Air Serbia will have 10 new planes.
