Today, President Aleksandar Vučić met with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov, with whom he discussed bilateral relations, strengthening energy cooperation between the two countries, as well as infrastructural and economic issues of common interest.
Vučić pointed out that the Balkan Stream gas pipeline project is essential for cooperation and development of the region, and that the beginning of the construction of the gas interconnector in Dimitrovgrad will ensure a secure gas supply and diversify the choice of supply.
The two interlocutors stated that the completion of the construction of the interconnector between Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece will contribute to even greater stability and energy security in the region.
The President thanked the Bulgarian Prime Minister for his sincere friendship and full commitment to the development of close neighborly relations between the two countries.
Petkov also proposed intensifying cooperation between Serbian and Bulgarian businessmen and experts in the field of information technologies, as well as the formation of Balkan startup companies.
“Our markets are small, so we need to work together on a better performance in third markets, but also to consider creating a new Balkan center for information technology,” Petkov said, Tanjug reported.
