The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matić, stated today that western Serbia is among the 18 priority tourist destinations in Serbia, as “one of the most attractive and most popular tourist areas in Serbia”, the Ministry announced.
At the opening of the “Western Serbia” tourist conference in Cacak, which brings together tourism workers from Serbia and the region, Matic said that the Western Serbia Tourist Region, which organized the event, was “the first in Serbia to recognize the importance of association and regional approach to tourism.”
On that occasion, the Minister also visited the rural household “Rajski konaci” in the village of LeuÅ¡ići near Gornji Milanovac, which won the “Tourist Flower” award for the most beautiful rural household in Serbia, which she said was a real example of nurturing tradition, old crafts and domestic handicrafts.
According to her, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications has allocated a total of slightly more than 7.7 million euros for tourism development projects in western Serbia from 2015 to 2021, Danas reports.
