A reader of Politika was surprised when he heard that in the future, Raiffeisen Bank will mostly have to withdraw money at an ATM, because the number of counters for cash payments is significantly reduced.
A reader of Politika, who stopped by Raiffeisen Bank in New Belgrade a few days ago to raise his salary, was informed that he would not be able to withdraw money at that branch for a long time, but only at the ATM. When he said that he did not have a card and that he did not want one, but to insist on taking money according to the old model, they explained to him that he would then have to go to another branch where he would be able to withdraw funds from a bank clerk.
When asked how much the branch will be able to withdraw money and what if it is far from home, as well as whether it means that he will have to stand in line if he wants to get cash at the counter, he was told that it is the decision of the authorities of the banks, and that he can choose what to do.
When he asked what he would do with a retired mother who can’t remember the pin to raise her pension and a father who also doesn’t want the machine to count his money, but wants the banker to hand him the money, the employees shrugged. Quite revolted, he called our editorial office to get information on whether we know about this bad news and what those who have a foreign currency account will do, whether they will also take money at a street ATM, with all the risk that it entails. What will happen to pensioners who mostly stand in line to raise their pension so that the device would not “eat” their card. After all, he says, he will change the bank.
Raiffeisen Bank states for our paper that those clients who insist that they perform transactions exclusively at the cash registers, will always provide such an option in a certain number of branches in cities where they have several branches. In places where they have only one branch, the cash register will be available to users only for a certain part of working hours. The main difference compared to the classic concept of banking is the relocation of transactions to multifunctional devices and electronic channels, so that bank employees can dedicate themselves to the needs of clients who require more time, whether it is cash or housing loans or to consider investing in private pension…
On multi-purpose devices (modern ATMs) it is possible to perform most cash transactions, both payments and payments in two currencies – dinars and euros, and non-cash account payments, payments to accounts in another bank, exchange operations, transfers between two accounts, as well as settlement loans and credit cards both in cash and by transferring funds from a current account. According to the new concept, each of our branches has a so-called 24-hour zone, which the client can access outside the working hours of the branch, which provides additional security, especially when withdrawing or paying a larger amount of money, Raiffeisen Bank emphasizes.
If the branch has two devices, often one is within the 24-hour zone and the other is external, so that users can use the one that suits them best at that moment. We advise every client who has access to the new way of performing transactions with reservations to continue coming to the branch office during working hours, in order to perform the transaction with his banker either at an ATM or on his mobile phone, until he becomes safe and able to use electronic banking.
Our experience so far confirms, they explain in this bank, that clients are very quickly convinced that they can perform all transactions themselves very simply, safely, comfortably and in just a few minutes. For users who belong to the older generations, as well as for everyone else, the option of changing the pin at ATMs in this bank and multi-purpose devices is enabled. So in a very simple way, as well as with the help of bankers if necessary, they can opt for a pin that will be easy to remember.
If the customer does not yet have a card or does not have it with him or simply suits him better – there are also transactions at ATMs for which he does not need a card, such as mobile cash – payments from account or payment by code, credit card payment, credit or to the account of a natural person in our bank, they conclude in Raiffeisen, Politika reports.
