Zijin Mining, in partnership with EMX Royalty, has revealed a significant new discovery at the Timok project in Serbia. The discovery, a copper-gold deposit named Malka Golaja, is located 7 kilometers southeast of the Čukaru Peki mine.
The deposit is estimated to contain approximately 2.81 million tonnes of copper with an average grade of 1.87 percent and 92 tonnes of gold with an average grade of 0.61 grams per tonne. These numbers refer to the contained metal, equating to an estimated 150 million tonnes of mineralized material.
In addition, the deposit is still open on the periphery, suggesting that there is considerable potential for further exploration and mineral discovery.
This finding was included in Zijin Mining’s annual report for 2024, highlighting the ongoing progress and promising future for the Timok project.
