As one of the organisations with the best developed and state-of-the-art information-communications networks in Serbia, the NBS presented its experiences in the networking of information-communications resources at Cisco Day held on 1 April in Belgrade. Among more than 600 experts who attended the event, the NBS was represented by general manager of the IT Department Mr Goran Kunjadić.
The solution applied at the NBS implies a complex system linking over 2,100 computers, more than 100 of special-purpose servers, other specialised network devices and integrated IP telephony. Owing to its configuration and adequate choice of network components, the NBS computer-communications network ensures a high degree of protection against both external and internal network attacks. The greatest attention is dedicated to measures pre-empting network attacks, but also to the defence and analysis of attacks in order to improve the protection system.
Experts present at the event expressed interest in applying NBS experiences in the configuration of the computer-communications network and defining of security parameters for network resources protection. It is noteworthy that the NBS applies some security solutions of the Bundesbank and Banque de France, as a result of targeted study visits and exchange of experiences with these two central banks.
