The Serbian parliament has adopted amendments to the value added tax law, amendments to the law on administrative fees, amendments to the mortgage law and the law on approving a framework loan agreement between the Council of Europe Development Bank and Serbia.
The majority of the 160 MPs attending voted for the amended laws on Monday.
Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic said earlier on Monday that the amended VAT law will introduce a 10-percent flat tax rate on all types of hotel accommodation, suburban and urban public transport and construction industry services.
Foreign nationals doing business in Serbia will be registered as VAT payers and have all the rights that they would have in EU territory, under the same conditions applicable to domestic legal persons.
The new law on administrative fees introduces equal rights and obligations for all entities, ensuring a more stable source of budget revenues from fees.
