This season’s grape and wine production in Serbia will double that of last year, which was extremely poor due to adverse weather conditions and the catastrophic floods, says the head of the winery and viticulture department at the Ministry of Agriculture Darko Jaksic.

Last year, 0.3 hectolitres of wine were produced in Serbia and this year’s production is expected to double that, Jaksic told reporters at the unveiling of the Serbian Atlas of Wine on Tuesday.

Grape yields in Serbia were as much as around 70 percent below average last year, while the quality depended on location and variety but was not on standard levels, he said.
