New production plant in Vranje tobacco factory opened

Opening a new production line in the British American Tobacco factory today, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic thanked this company for moving the production plant from Croatia to Vranje and underlined that Serbia is the best place for investment.

Vucic said that, thanks to production of this company, our country receives more than €100 million per year in the budget, and emphasised that it is necessary to intensify the campaign against illegal tobacco sale.

He also pointed out that British American Tobacco is Britain’s biggest investor in our country, and added that the value of the new plant is €5 million.

Also, this company has increased its capacity by 40% and become the manufacturing centre of the countries signatories of the CEFTA agreement.

Before the tour of the company and the commissioning of the production plant, the Prime Minister met with the management of the company, with whom he talked about the future plans of British American Tobacco in Serbia.
