– Credit line under excellent conditions is a great privilege for our company. So far assets from Europe was not that much invested in mining, due to the concerns for ecology but thanks to the serious and detail studies we proved that coal as energy source still does not have alternative and that with coal homogenization environment is being improved – said Mr. NebojÅ¡a Ćeran, General Manager of Kolubara mining basin, stating that Kolubara with improved management and cost cutting during last year secured 80 mil euro of their own assets for investments..

Every second electricity kwh is being produced out of Kolubara coal, which delivers 30 mil tons per year. With that type of production we have surplus in non productive workers, but we are not letting out no one, people are going into retirement within normal procedures. With opening of new coal surface fields we see the opportunity for new workers, primarily production working labor, estimated Mr.Ceran General Manager of Kolubara mining basin company.

-Credits from EBRD and German development bank KFW will be used for procurement of big machines such as excavators, transporters but also facility for coal homogenization which will influence the improved efficiency of power plants with reduced gas emission. Thanks to this investments, Kolubara metal will also be supported, at the moment it’s the biggest metal industry company in Serbia with 3000 workers which is the part of Kolubara basin company. In the same time we see the chance for compete domestic metal industry, stated Mr.Ceran.

“Kolubara” was one of the state owned companies with huge deficits in business, since 2009. Is working and doing business positively, with current profits of 20 mil euro per year.

We are not spending money from budget, we are not receiving any state subventions. On the contrary, with tax and contribution payments on time for 10.000 workers Kolubara is filling the state budgets. During last 2 years we increased the income from coal sales for around 10 mil euro, the costs for renting of private machines are decreased for 40 mil euro in comparison with 2008. In the same time we got 25 new trucks, 20 heavy and transport machines for field work and workers transport.  We are also planning to take another 5 mil euro of credits with domestic banks so the costs for machines renting will be decreased additionaly, announces Mr.Nebojsa Ceran, assured that the opening of new coal surface fields will secure the coal supply to TENT power plants in Obrenovac and stop the import of huge quantities of electricity.
