Amendments to the existing Labour law will improve investment climate in Serbia

Serbia’s Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic met with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) headed by Head of Mission to Serbia Albert Jaeger.

They discussed details of the implementation of the new Law on social protection and possible amendments to certain provisions of the existing Labour law.

Ljajic said that the current situation in the social welfare system and announcements of budget revision indicate that the payment of all social welfare liabilities will be regular.

He said that amendments to the existing Labour law would improve investment climate and that such a step requires full agreement of all social partners including trade union representatives, which will be discussed at the Social and Economic Council.
