The main equipment was delivered to the construction site of the Pancevo Thermal Power Plant, which croncluded the conditions for this investment to be completed by autumn, next year.

The installation of the steam turbine generator on the construction of TPP Pancevo marked the completion of the delivery of the main equipment for this site. The 180 million euros investment will provide heat for the Pancevo Refinery and electricity for the domestic market.

“This project is not only significant for shareholders but for Serbia as a country as well, because the excess electricity, which is about 60 percent, will be delivered to the domestic power system and thus ensure the security of the power system”, said Zoran Predic from the Ministry of Energy.

The project is being implemented by the “Gasprom energoholding” group, in cooperation with NIS, and the contractor is the Chinese company “Shanghai Electric Group”, RTV reports.

“For Gasprom energoholding, this is the first project of its kind beyond the borders of Russia. It is very important for us that its implementation is successful, and I am convinced that everything will work out in the best way”, added Gasprom Energoholding CEO Denis Vladimirovich Fyodorov.

“This is currently one of the most important investments in the field of energy in Serbia. By purchasing the main equipment for the TPP Pancevo, we have met the deadlines and I hope that by next fall we will successfully put into operation the power plant”, says Kiril Tjurdenjev, General Manager of NIS.

In addition to the new jobs for the citizens of Pancevo, this investment has an environmental dimension.
