The Republic of Serbia, through the National Bank of Serbia, paid 21.99 million euros to the World Bank for arrears of debt rescheduled in the 1970s and 1980s, the central bank reported.
It is a Consolidation loan B of 21.99 million euros, of which 17.87 million euros is principal and 4.12 million euros is interest. The funds of the mentioned loans were used for infrastructure projects as well as for the needs of the economy – industrial capacity building, agriculture, electricity, water management, forestry, transport and more.
The obligations of the Republic of Serbia on the rescheduled debts incurred in the 1970s and 1980s to the World Bank are due on Consolidation loan A, twice a year, in March and September, with the last installment due on September 15, 2031.
Under the B Consolidation Loan, liabilities also mature twice a year, in June and December, with the last installment due on December 15, 2031.
