Increased industrial production in Serbia in November

In November, industrial production in Serbia increased 1.1 percent compared to the same month in 2018, and increased by 7.6 percent compared to last year’s average, the Republic Bureau of Statistics announced.

In November, the year on year growth was recorded by the manufacturing industry by 1.5 percent, and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 1.3 percent, while mining registered a decrease of 2.9 percent.

The production of capital goods increased by 12.3 percent compared to the same month last year, and the production of intermediate goods, except energy, by 2.7 percent.

The decrease was recorded in energy production (0.6%), non-durable consumer goods (2.0%), and durable consumer goods (6.5%).

The biggest impact on the growth of industrial production in November compared to the same month in 2018 was due to: production of metal products, except machinery, production of chemical products, production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations, production of clothing, and electricity production, RTV reports.

In January-November 2019, industrial production decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for November compared to the average in 2018 shows a total increase of 2.2 percent and a 3.1 percent increase for the manufacturing industry.

According to seasonally adjusted data, in November industrial production was 1.1 percent higher than in October, while manufacturing grew by 0.6 percent on a monthly basis.
