Strengthening Serbia’s cooperation with Kenya in the field of agriculture

Provincial Secretary of Agriculture Vuk Radojevic met with Kenya’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ababu Namwamba.
Radojevic presented to the guests from Kenya the potentials of AP Vojvodina and the agrarian policy measures that the Provincial Government encourages agricultural development, referring to the export potentials of Vojvodina agricultural products, especially those that are not genetically modified.
Radojevic reminded that Vojvodina is a dominant agricultural area, with a total area of about 74 percent of arable land, or 1.6 million hectares of agricultural land, emphasizing the reputation and quality of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops and the Biosens Institute in achieving high yields.
The meeting focused on cooperation in the field of food and processing industry, digitization of agriculture in the context of global climate change, production of agricultural machinery and process equipment and transfer of technologies and knowledge in the field of seed production, said the Provincial Government.
Radojevic and Namwamba added that Serbia and Kenya have a long tradition of good relations, while Radojevic especially thanked for the principled support Kenya has shown in preserving Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Namwamba stressed that Kenya will not change its stance on Kosovo and Metohija and that it sees a safe and loyal partner for co-operation and friendship in Serbia.
One of the topics that focused on the meeting was the linking of the universities and scientific institutes of AP Vojvodina and Kenya, the statement said, B92 reports.
