Serbia’s production of crude steel fell 28.1% on the year to 743,000 tonnes in the first half of 2020, according to data of the World Steel Association.
Serbia was the largest producer of crude steel among the seven countries of Southeast Europe (SEE) included in the World Steel Association’s monthly production report for June.
The combined production of the seven SEE countries — Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Moldova — declined 25.8% on the year to 1.821 million tonnes in the first six months of 2020.
Bulgaria came second after Serbia with a production of 308,000 tonnes of crude steel, slightly up from 307,000 tonnes.
