With the agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Serbia can become an economic bridge between the West and the East, attract new investments from the EU and Russia, and further strengthen our political and economic positions in the region, said the Minister of Innovation and Technological Development, Nenad Popovic.
The news that the Russian government has approved the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Republic of Serbia is a confirmation of the excellent political and economic relations between Serbia and Russia, Popovic told Tanjug.
This is especially important at this moment, Popovic explains, when as a country, due to the global economic crisis caused by the corona virus, we need to diversify our exports and be present in as many markets as possible where there is a need for goods from Serbia, and Russia, according to Minister, wants our goods, because in Russia there is a long tradition and recognition of brands from Serbia.
“I am thinking primarily of economic branches such as agriculture and the food industry, but we also have great potential for the export of our engineering knowledge, innovative solutions and IT services,” said Popovic, Tanjug reports.
