The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, stated today that at the end of the second quarter of this year, youth unemployment was 20.7 percent, which, she says, is a record low unemployment for that category of citizens so far.
She pointed out that six years ago, youth unemployment was as high as 51.1 percent.
“Serbia still has a huge problem with youth unemployment. However, at the end of the second quarter of this year, youth unemployment reached 20.7 percent, which is a record low unemployment,” Brnabic said, reports Tanjug.
He points out that this is an indicator that the state is committed to young people, to stay in the country and have a job.
Brnabic says that youth unemployment is declining continuously and presented the data that at the end of 2018 it amounted to 29.1 percent, at the end of 2019 25.5 percent, and now 20.7 percent.
“Youth unemployment is continuously declining and that is very good,” Brnabic said, adding that the state is not satisfied with that result either and that it will continue with youth employment policies, Politika reports.
