The number of domestic Serbian tourists in September is a fifth higher than last year

In September, the trend continued that domestic tourists spend more holidays in Serbia than last year, so 603,912 overnight stays of domestic tourists were recorded, which is almost 19 percent more than in September 2019, the Tourist Organization of Serbia announced.
Domestic tourists most often went to spas, namely Sokobanja and Vrnjacka Banja, then to the mountains, especially Zlatibor and Kopaonik, as well as to Belgrade.
When it comes to foreign tourists, 94,196 overnight stays were realized, which is 76 percent less than in the same month in 2019, but almost 14,000 more than in August this year.
Tourists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Montenegro, Russia and Germany spent the most nights.
In the first nine months of this year, a total of 1,464,664 tourists stayed in Serbia, which is 48 percent less than in the same period last year.
There were 1,110,656 domestic tourists, 22 percent less than in the first nine months of last year, and 354,008 foreign tourists, or 75 percent less than in the same period last year.
Foreign tourists mostly stayed in Belgrade, then on Kopaonik, Zlatibor, Novi Sad, Vrnjacka Banja, Dnevnik reports.
