The Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated today that Serbia is interested in further development of cooperation with American companies in the energy sector as well.
“This is not only a question of gas pipelines and diversification, but also of renewable energy sources and green technologies. The Washington agreement and cooperation on Lake Gazivoda are very important for us, to launch joint projects and secure supplies,” she said after the meeting with the US Ambassador to Serbia, Anthony Godfrey.
Mihajlovic thanked Godfrey for the support and cooperation so far and announced that it would be continued through the field of mining and energy, as a strategically important sector for the further development of Serbia.
Ambassador Godfrey congratulated the Minister on taking over the mining and energy sector.
“Your leadership in this area is good and important for the state. The United States will continue to strongly support Serbia in its further economic development, and we look forward to strengthening cooperation in the energy sector. The fastest way to economic growth is possible through the construction of various energy sources, especially gas,” he said.
He pointed out that the Agreement from Washington is also very important for the United States, because it shows a strong commitment to the improvement and normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, Danas reports.
