Speaking at the round table on the occasion of the Savings Day, Vladimir Vasic, Secretary of the Association of Serbian Banks, said that the Deposit Insurance Agency is an important support for citizens and the economy in the growth of savings.
Vasic pointed out that the measures of support of the National Bank and the Government of Serbia, which reached about 12 percent of GDP, were crucial for the stability of the banking system and the economy.
Banks, for their part, gave their support through two waves of moratoriums, in the total value of more than three billion euros, as well as other reliefs.
Prominent domestic experts, scientists and bank representatives took part in the discussion, Novosti reports.
