The municipality of Srbobran is increasingly attractive to foreign investors, and in addition to the German company Alutec, which leased part of the space within the Elan plant, the Japanese Aquafarm See bought a greenhouse that once belonged to this agricultural plant, Srbobran mayor Radivoj Debeljacki told eKapija.
– Alutec, which is engaged in the production of aluminum parts in the automotive industry, realized its business in Serbia with the help of the Development Agency. They leased a part of the space that once belonged to Farming within the Elan factory. According to the information we received from the company, the plan is to employ 100 workers – says Debeljacki.
He points out that, in cooperation with the Development Agency of Serbia and the Development Agency of Vojvodina, Srbobran is often visited by investors who intend to invest in greenfield or brownfield locations.
One of them is the Japanese company Aquafarm See, which bought a greenhouse in the former ownership of the agricultural plant Elan.
– For now, preparatory activities are being carried out for the beginning of the planned production, which is expected in the spring, where a certain number of workers are also expected to be hired – states Debeljacki.
He adds that the goal and motivation of local producers is to cooperate with this company and the state of Japan.
Aquafarm See is a Japanese company founded by Kihachiro Nishiura in Serbia in 2015, with, as stated on the company’s website, the goal of expanding business cooperation between Japan and Serbia.
– Our company is the representative of the Japan Business Association for Southeast Europe (JSEEBA) for the Balkan region and our main business processes are related to international cooperation with Japan – it is stated on the site, eKapija reports.
