Big plans for Serbian tourist infrastructure

Due to the corona pandemic, the Serbian mountains are becoming more and more interesting for Serbian tourists, and Zlatar and Lake Uvac have replaced the sea for many this summer.
Precisely because of the growing interest of visitors for this part of Serbia, large investments in the tourist infrastructure of this area are coming.
“We will work on improving the entire tourist offer of the municipality of Nova Varos, and the emphasis will be on reviving traditional events, which can have great tourist potential, but also on the realization of new projects that will attract guests of different interests to Zlatar,” Branko Pucarevic, director of TO Zlatar, told RINA.
The great tourist potential of this region was also recognized by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, so in June this year, a contract worth 50 thousand euros was signed for the construction of new pedestrian paths and the improvement of the existing ones.
“Our idea is to finally fix the Sopot picnic area, to connect Nova Varos behind the Zlatar tourist zone, as well as to improve the infrastructure on the already existing Batrovac trail. Their signalization will be done, as well as new billboards with Zlatar motifs,” said Pucarevic.
On this mountain, more and more locals decide to engage in rural tourism, so one of the priorities of the Tourist Organization is to update the database and better promote private accommodation.
“Through the e-tourist application, it will be possible to precisely manage data and capacities, as well as record the number of nights and visits throughout the year. All visitors who opt for Zlatar can also use vouchers from the Ministry of Tourism,” Pucarevic emphasizes, B92 reports.
