Serbia in partnership with UNDP in the field of digitalization

The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Tatjana Matic, and the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Francine Pickup, reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of digitalization on Tuesday, December 8.
Matic pointed out that the development of domestic tourism, the creation of a favorable atmosphere for digital nomads, the encouragement of e-commerce, as well as the improvement of digital skills for senior citizens and women are topics of common interest.
She stated that these are the goals whose realization is foreseen by the plans and budget of the line ministry, expressing satisfaction with the establishment of a partnership with UNDP in the mentioned areas.
Pickup presented a proposal to promote Belgrade as one of the most popular destinations for digital nomads, as well as cooperation in the field of creating a 5G startup ecosystem, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.
The crisis caused by the coronavirus can be an opportunity to change behavior, primarily in the use of digital services that will develop after the pandemic, but also the development of domestic tourism, added the UNDP representative, announcing funds to promote primarily female-headed households, by creating service and service maps, eKapija reports.
