Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with representatives of the Council of the Energy Agency (AERS) about changing the law in the field of energy and mining, digitalization of procedures and resolving the issue of licensing energy companies.
“The ministry has started preparing a new legislative framework in the field of energy and mining,” Mihajlovic said, the ministry said.
She says that the plan of the ministry is to have a new law on renewable energy sources at the beginning of next year, and amendments to the Law on Energy, the Law on Efficient Use of Energy and the Law on Mining and Geological Research.
“We are also moving towards the digitalization of procedures, through the reforms of e-energy and e-mining, so that we would have equally fast and efficient procedures in this sector, as we have already established in construction,” said Mihajlovic.
One of the topics of the meeting was the licensing of companies in the electricity and gas sector, in order to solve the problem that some companies do not have a license for the activity they perform.
The President of the AERS Council, Dejan Popović, said that he hoped for good cooperation between the agency and the ministry in all activities where the synergy of the national regulatory body and the line ministry is needed, Dnevnik reports.
