In the first quarter of 2021, projects of national importance will start in Serbia

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, chaired the session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for Gross Domestic Product Growth, at which it was stated that it is necessary to start construction and infrastructure projects of national importance in the first quarter of next year.
Brnabic stated that, among other things, they are the construction of the Frushkogorski corridor, sections of the Nis-Merdare road, New Belgrade-Surcin, as well as the gas interconnections Serbia-Bulgaria.
The list of priorities includes the construction and reconstruction of railway infrastructure, but also projects in the field of environmental protection, especially when it comes to the construction of factories for wastewater treatment. In 17 municipalities in Serbia, everything is ready for the beginning of the construction of those plants, it was said at the session.
When it comes to Belgrade, the construction of the Belgrade metro is planned for the end of next year, while the construction of the Industrial Park in Borca, as it was estimated, will give a completely new life to that part of the city.
It was stated at the session that a significantly higher number of built-up squares in housing units is recorded in the last year, compared to 2019, and other large projects are nearing completion.
The members of the Council informed the Prime Minister that the works on the Clinical Center of Vojvodina will begin soon, as well as the equipment of the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Dedinje 2” and that in 2021 the construction of the Children’s Hospital “Tirsova 2” was agreed.
It was also emphasized that support for economic entities will be continued through the existing guarantee scheme, as well as that a new guarantee scheme for economic support and liquidity preservation will be implemented next year with the American Financial Corporation.
At the session of the Council, it was concluded that the Serbian economy showed good results despite the catastrophic conditions due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is stated in the announcement, N1 reports.
