Serbia donated 73.7 million euros to Republika Srpska in three years

“Out of the total amount of allocated donor funds, according to the decisions of the Government of Srpska, 38,237,083 euros were allocated for project financing, 15,457,575 euros for other purposes and for support to the budget of Republika Srpska in 2020 for repairing the consequences caused by the coronavirus pandemic, 20,000,000 euros,” the Government of RS announced for the Srna agency.
It is further stated that Serbia has so far approved 11 donations to the Republika Srpska, which are realized through the RS Ministry of Finance.
These donations are mostly directed to the implementation of capital projects in municipalities and cities of RS, as well as municipalities in the Federation of BiH with a majority Serb population.
“All funds of the Government of Serbia are used in a transparent manner. Project holders regularly inform the Ministry of Finance about activities by projects, and submit the necessary contractual documentation and documentation for payments by projects,” the RS Government stated.
These donor funds are approved within the mechanism of cooperation under the Agreement on Special and Parallel Relations, with the aim of building and strengthening relations between Serbia and RS, the RS Government stated.
They also emphasized that in almost every municipality and city in the Republic of Srpska, projects have either already been realized or are being realized, and that facilities such as kindergartens, sports halls, playgrounds, and health institutions have been built or reconstructed, RTV reports.
