The pandemic has also left its mark on startup communities, so for a large number of them, according to the profession, it is now an ideal opportunity to connect with large companies, Zoran Vasiljev from the company Centili spoke about the business startup climate in Serbia for Info Biz.

N1: In your biography, there are, among other things, three successful sales of startups. How do you feel about the business startup climate in Serbia now?

“One of the reasons for my return to Serbia is the healthy atmosphere that has been created around startups in Serbia, as well as the ambitions related to the startup ecosystem. It is indisputable that we are creative and that we have great engineers, technicians, programmers, and I think that they have a place here, that we should invest in them, as well as in their ideas,” he says.

In order for startup companies to succeed, it is necessary to get closer to large companies, and now, claims Vasiljev, is the right time for that.

“An opportunity was created during the pandemic for those companies that failed to transform themselves and accept a new way of doing business and a business model that has become more digital. It is a chance for smaller companies to get closer to some companies that need help, to digitalize, to be more agile. The startup scene needs a unicorn, and that is a company worth one billion dollars, and that is the dream of every founder who wants to make his company a global player. We have companies that are on that path. For example, our gaming industry is active and recognizable in the world, and we cannot fail to mention, for example, Nordeus,” concluded Vasiljev, N1 reports.
