Austrians are interested in investing in solar plants in Serbia

The Austrian company Solid Solar Energy Systems is interested in investing in solar plants in Serbia, said director Stefan Janster after a meeting with Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic.

– Together with Serbian partners, we researched the market, conducted several feasibility studies for several cities, in order to assess the potential of solar energy. We are ready for detailed design and construction of solar plants. We have the technology and experience, we have been on the market for more than 30 years and we manage more than 20 systems – said the first man of the company that came to Serbia three years ago, according to a statement from Minister Mihajlovic’s office.

During the conversation with the delegation of the Austrian company, Mihajlovic pointed out that Serbia recently received four important laws in the energy and mining sector, including the completely new Law on Renewable Energy Sources, and that investments in renewable energy sources are important for our country and further development.

– We want to see as many companies dealing with renewable sources in Serbia, to build hydro, gas and solar plants and contribute to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. Energy and environmental security on the path of energy transition and green energy is important for Serbia. Our goal is to get 40% of energy from renewable sources by 2040 – the Minister said, eKapija reports.
