EUR 100 million for lending to SMEs in Serbia

The European Investment Bank (EIB) as the lender, the Republic of Serbia as the borrower and the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) as the agent signed today a EUR 100 million worth of Finance Contract on the disbursement of the second tranche of the fourth Apex Loan of the European Investment Bank worth EUR 250 million.

The Loan will make available additional funds under favorable terms for financing of economic development and lending to SMEs and mid-caps (from 250 to 3000 employees), which will boost economic growth against the backdrop of the financial crisis and further job creation in the Republic of Serbia, the NBS announced.

Through the Apex Loan, support is given to export-oriented enterprises, the automobile industry, the media and priority projects. The maturity period of funds is up to seven and the grace period is up to two years, while the rate is either fixed or floating, depending on the choice made by final beneficiaries.
