SERBIA’s raspberry producers’ association (UMS) has signed a contract for the sale of 50 000 tonnes of frozen Willamette raspberries from the 2012 harvest with little-known Austrian company CWS Best Food.

Dragisa Terzic, president of the association that assembles 18 raspberry production groups, said raspberry producers would be paid EUR1.21/kg for their crop based on the agreement. The difference between the export price and purchase prices will cover costs of fruit processing and stockpiling in cold storage facilities, he explained.
