The Ministry of Environmental Protection announced today that it enabled the receipt of requests for subsidizing the purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles, because additional funds were provided.
“The Government of Serbia has recognized the great interest of citizens in supporting the state for the purchase of environmentally friendly vehicles, and at the request of the relevant ministry, it has provided additional funds,” said Minister of Environmental Protection, Irena Vujovic.
She added that citizens or companies that are interested in this type of support, can apply by submitting the necessary documentation.
Vujovic assessed that the fight against air pollution is one of the strategic goals of the ministry she leads.
“Since the subsidizing of eco-vehicles obviously gave a good result, we will determine the funds for that purpose for the next year as well,” said Vujovic.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection initially allocated one million euros for this year for subsidizing electric vehicles and hybrids. The reception of requests was recently interrupted, because the previously foreseen budget for requests for the purchase of a total of about 370 vehicles was used.
State support amounts to 250 to 5,000 euros per vehicle, depending on the type of vehicle. So far, the greatest interest has been for hybrid passenger vehicles, for which support of 2,500 euros is planned, Danas reports.
