The exhibition “Can technology save the world” was opened in the Science and Technology Park Belgrade (NTP Belgrade), where more than 30 solutions in the field of clean technologies were developed by Serbian and Swiss startups and growing companies.
Addressing environmental challenges, these innovative companies have developed technological solutions that contribute to climate change mitigation and the challenges of preserving planet Earth. The exhibition will be open from September 22 to 28 for all visitors interested in looking at innovations that contribute to building a more sustainable world.
The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in cooperation with local partners: the Science and Technology Park Belgrade, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications. The goal is to start and accelerate cooperation between the key actors of the two countries in the field of green economy and to draw attention to the innovative technological solutions of Serbian and Swiss companies.
– As you can see in the exhibition, we are all committed to achieving the goals of the United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development by 2030, in order to achieve sustainable economic growth and protect the environment. We are convinced that this requires a common approach, involving state governments, civil society and the private sector. If we manage to maintain and develop this common approach, as evidenced by today’s exhibition in Belgrade, we will overcome one of the greatest challenges of today, and that is to harmonize the economy and the environment. After today, it should be clear that Switzerland and Serbia can and must contribute to achieving that goal – said Erwin Bollinger, head of the bilateral economic relations sector at the State Secretariat for Economic Relations of Switzerland (SECO).
The opening of the exhibition was also an opportunity for networking of Serbian and Swiss innovative companies, which considered possibilities for further cooperation and joint projects, eKapija reports.
