The Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated today in Novi Sad that the green agenda is a generational issue, that it cannot be used for daily political purposes, and that the elections will not affect the definition of energy goals.
She pointed out that when it comes to new capacities in Vojvodina, a good part of the projects, worth 17 billion euros, of which more than 10 billion are for renewable energy sources, will be built in Vojvodina.
– Serbia annually emits 59 million tons of carbon dioxide, if we realize the plans and investments, we will reduce those emissions by 24 million tons – Minister Mihajlovic pointed out.
According to her, an equally important thing is raising energy efficiency and what each of us will do in that regard. To that end, the state provided subsidies so that we could finally stop consuming 40 percent more heat and electricity than the European average, Danas reports.
