Danieli arrives

Representatives of the Serbian Government and the Italian steel and metal-processing machinery maker Danieli have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for that company’s €500 million investment in a steel mill in Sabac.

According to the memorandum, Danieli would create 1,000 jobs at the new plant that would be producing 750,000t of steel annually, adding that its exports would be at the level of €1 billion per year. The Italian company will build a steel mill in an industrial zone in northwest Sabac, on a lot spanning 110 hectares on the bank of the Sava river.

Danieli is the world’s third largest supplier of equipment for steel mills and the metal industry, employing over 9,000 people.
