Swedish companies are interested in investing in biomass and biogas in Serbia

Swedish Ambassador to Serbia Anika Ben David pointed out today in a conversation with Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic that companies from that country are ready to invest in all sectors in Serbia, especially in biomass and biogas, the ministry said.
The ambassador pointed out that Sweden strongly supports Serbia on the path of European integration, and that Swedish companies are interested in investing in the mining and energy sector.
“Green transition is very important for us, there is interest from our companies in all sectors, especially when it comes to biomass and biogas,” said Ben David.
She also congratulated the Minister on all the achievements in the field of gender equality.
“We are here to exchange experiences and cooperate even more, both in the fight against gender-based violence, which affects Sweden, and in other areas. I would also like to add that the Serbian diaspora in Sweden is important to us, they built their lives there and contributed to the creation of the society in which we live, we are grateful for that,” the ambassador said.
Mihajlovic said that the Coordination Body for Gender Equality has done a lot in the past seven years – from the adoption of new laws and strategies, through the introduction of gender responsive budgeting, the Gender Equality Index.
Mihajlovic added that the ministry has passed new laws, to prepare a strategy for energy development until 2050 and a national plan for climate and energy, as a basis for creating a favorable environment for new investments, the decarbonisation process with the goal of 20% electricity production from renewable sources by 2040, Danas reports.
