The NIS general manager, Kiril Kravčenko, told Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic that as of November 1 a new investment phase worth at least 300 million EUR will start and that its transformation into a power company to produce energy from alternative sources in line with the highest European standards is planned for the forthcoming period.
The two agreed that on the necessity of cooperation, which would be both in the interest of Serbia and company Gazprom Njeft – the NIS majority owner. Nikolić assessed fuel in Serbia as too expensive compared with the living standard and proposed that the state authorities, together with their Russian partners, find a way of adapting those prices to citizens and economy.
