Serbia issues 2,356 construction permits in June 2024: 8.6% Decrease from last year

In Serbia, 2,356 construction permits were issued in June 2024, marking an 8.6% decrease compared to the same month in 2023, according to the Republic Institute of Statistics. Among these permits, 81.6% were for buildings, and 18.4% were for other types of construction.

Of the permits issued for buildings, 80.3% were for residential projects, while 19.7% were for non-residential ones. Additionally, 65.2% of permits for other buildings were related to pipelines, communication, and electrical lines. A total of 3,026 apartments were reported for construction, with an average area of 71.7 square meters.

In buildings with only one apartment, 11.6% of the apartments will be constructed, averaging 139.6 square meters each. In buildings with three or more apartments, 86.6% will be built, with an average area of 60.7 square meters.

Regarding the estimated value of new constructions, Belgrade leads with 24.8% of the total, followed by the Niš region at 16.3%, Mačva at 11.1%, Srem at 9.6%, and South Bačka at 7.6%.
