Belex 15 index rises 5.3% last week; Dunav Osiguranje and Messer Tehnogas lead gains

The Belex 15 index, which tracks the most liquid stocks, surged by 5.3% last week, reaching 1,143.2 points, according to Momentum Securities. Since the beginning of the year, the Belex 15 index has increased by 30%.

Total trading volume for the week amounted to 2.1 billion dinars, or 18.3 million euros.

The stock of Dunav Osiguranje saw the highest trading activity, with its price rising by 7.5% to 1,312 dinars, and a trading volume of 11.6 million dinars. The weekly peak price for Dunav Osiguranje shares reached 1,330 dinars, marking the highest price for this security in the past two years.

The insurance company’s market capitalization has approached 20 billion dinars. Last year, Dunav Osiguranje reported a consolidated gross premium of 42 billion dinars.

Trading value for Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) shares last week was just under six million dinars, with a price increase of 0.9% to 835 dinars. Despite a weaker business trend for the company this year, demand for NIS shares has increased. The price of Metalac shares from Gornji Milanovac rose by 3.3% last week to 1,840 dinars, with trading worth 2.4 million dinars. This year, the price of Metalac shares has risen by 15.7%, reversing several years of negative trends.

Messer Tehnogas also significantly contributed to the index’s growth last week, with its share price jumping by 18.1% to 35,500 dinars. However, most of the trading volume of 1.3 million dinars occurred at a price of around 31,000 dinars.
