Ruch: Switzerland to keep investing in south Serbia

Swiss Ambassador in Serbia Jean-Daniel Ruch conferred with representatives of local governments in Bujanovac and Presevo over the economic development in southern Serbia, and stated that Switzerland is interested in continuing with its investments in the region.

The Swiss ambassador said that the dialogue with the Serbian government should continue in the search for a solution to the problems in southern Serbia, with the help of the OSCE.

Ruch told a media conference after the meeting with Bujanovac Mayor Nagip Arifi that the topics of their talks covered economic development which is necessary in southern Serbia and affects political stability.

He recalled that Switzerland invested CHF 2,7 million in the area this year alone, within the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme PROGRES. The Swiss ambassador also visited Presevo where he conferred with Mayor Ragmi Mustafa and Deputy Mayor Skender Destani over the political and security situation, with the emphasis on economic development.
