Etihad Airways from the United Arab Emirates is interested in Jat Airways and exchange of business data has already been arranged between the two companies, Tanjug learned from Jat on Friday.
The Serbian national airline says the management of the two companies are already in contact.
Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic said late Thursday that talks are under way with Etihad about a takoever of Jat and expressed belief the matter would definitely be settled this year.
Dinkic recalled that Etihad is one of the few airlines to make a profit last year and noted that creating a joint company would be good because Jat has good pilots and an excellent geographical location, while Etihad has planes and access to some other markets.
