Nikolic: Serbia wants investments from Azerbaijan

Serbia expects new investments from Azerbaijan, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said Monday in a meeting with Kamil Aliyev, director of Azerbaijani company Azvirt, and Eldar Hasanov, the country’s ambassador to Serbia.

Nikolic noted that the Serbian government is preparing projects which will be presented to Azerbaijani investors very soon, the president’s press office said in a release.
In addition to investments in infrastructure, an area where Azvirt provides highly professional service, Serbia also expects investments in several projects in energy, agriculture, tourism and infrastructure, he said.

Ambassador Hasanov recalled that several bilateral agreements have been signed in the food industry and announced that six investors will arrive in Serbia soon to support various projects.

Azvirt Director Kamil Aliyev said President Nikolic’s recent visit to Azerbaijan was a historic turning point in the relations between the two countries and that all problems have been overcome very quickly. Our only goal is to the job flawlessly and on time, said Aliyev, adding that works are ongoing on the Corridor 11 project and that all 120 employees are being paid regularly.
