Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic and Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Vu Huy Hoang signed two inter-governmental agreements on economic cooperation and agreed on concrete steps for their implementation.

Mrkic said in a statement to Tanjug news agency that the agreements pave the way for performance and presence of Serbia in Vietnam.

Vietnam is evolving rapidly, which makes room for many jobs, he said.

He also said that President of the Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sangu was submitted a letter of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and that the talks related to political issues.

Vietnam’s officials were presented with the position of Serbia regarding Kosovo-Metohija, and we expressed gratitude on their strong support, the Minister said.

Mrkic met yesterday in Hanoi with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, who confirmed that Vietnam remains firm in its stance not to recognise Kosovo’s independence.

Mrkic is on a multi-day tour of Southeast Asia. Apart from Vietnam, he also visited Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
