Nikolic to Belarus businessmen: Invest in Serbia

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic called Wednesday on Belarus businessmen to make investments in Serbia, adding that he is the guarantor of the safety of their investments.

Nikolic, who continued his officials visit to Minsk by meeting with the businessmen at the building of The National Library of Belarus, voiced expectation that the friendship between Serbia and Belarus will serve as an example to the world that friendly relations always lead to good and successful cooperation.

Nikolic told the businessmen that he and President Alexander Lukashenko had a lengthy discussion about what has been done, but also about what the two countries are yet to do when it comes to cooperation.

Predrag Mikic, the economic advisor to the Serbian president, presented to the Belarusian entrepreneurs a program of potential projects for cooperation and investments in Serbia.

The meeting also brought together Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic, Minister of Culture Bratislav Petkovic, Belarusian Trade Minister Valentin Chekanov and Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce Mikhail Myatlikov.

The Serbian president visited the National Library, where he received a membership card of that institution, while he presented library officials with several replicas of books from Serbian monasteries.
